Dr Wilfred Galea graduated in Medicine from the University of Malta in 1984 and has worked in family medicine and private practice since 1986. He founded the Professional Services Centre in Dingli in 1996, with the aim of providing accessible, comprehensive and patient-centred healthcare within the community.

Throughout his career, Dr Galea has been actively involved in the development of Family Medicine in Malta. He is a founder member and Fellow of the Malta College of Family Doctors and was also a founder member of the Association of Private Family Doctors. He has maintained a strong interest in postgraduate education, continuing professional development and the training of family doctors.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr Galea has been closely involved in the development of medical education and digital resources for healthcare professionals, including TheSynapse Network and online continuing medical education initiatives.

With four decades of experience in community-based medicine, his approach to family practice places particular emphasis on continuity of care, prevention, early diagnosis and building long-term relationships with patients and their families.

Today, he continues to practise at the Professional Services Centre while contributing to the ongoing development of its multidisciplinary and group-practice model of care.
