Allied Healthcare Services

Supporting Your Health from Every Angle

Connected Care, Centred Around You

At Professional Services Centre, the right expertise is available when you need it.

Our Family Doctors, medical specialists and allied healthcare professionals each bring a different perspective to patient care. By bringing these services together within one centre, we aim to make healthcare more accessible, coordinated and convenient.

Whether you are recovering from an injury, managing a long-term condition, improving your nutrition, addressing your emotional wellbeing, protecting your mobility or dealing with hearing difficulties, our objective remains the same:

To look beyond the immediate problem and support your overall health and wellbeing.

Several different Professional Services Centre healthcare professionals working together

At Professional Services Centre, our allied healthcare services complement the care provided by our Family Medicine Group Practice and specialist medical consultants. Together, they allow us to offer a broader and more holistic approach to your health — addressing not only illness, but also mobility, nutrition, emotional wellbeing, hearing and other factors that can influence your quality of life.

This reflects a philosophy that has guided Professional Services Centre since we first opened our doors in 1996: putting the patient at the centre of care.

Our Allied Healthcare Services

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy can help restore movement, reduce pain, improve strength and support recovery following injury, illness or surgery.

Our physiotherapy service provides assessment and individually tailored treatment for a range of musculoskeletal, orthopaedic and neurological problems. Treatment may include rehabilitation following surgery or injury, exercises to improve strength and mobility, balance and stability work, and Pilates-based rehabilitation techniques.

The emphasis is not simply on relieving symptoms, but on helping patients regain function and confidence in everyday life.

Nutrition & Dietetics

What we eat can have an important influence on both our present health and our future risk of disease.

Our dietetics service provides evidence-based nutritional assessment and personalised advice rather than one-size-fits-all diets. Support is available for people wishing to improve their general nutrition as well as those with specific medical or nutritional requirements.

Areas in which dietary support may be helpful include diabetes, gestational diabetes, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), high cholesterol, renal conditions, coeliac disease and nutrition during or following cancer treatment.

The aim is to develop practical and sustainable nutritional strategies that can become part of everyday life.

Psychotherapy

Physical and emotional wellbeing are closely connected.

Our systemic psychotherapy service provides a confidential and supportive setting in which individuals, couples and families can explore difficulties affecting their emotional wellbeing, relationships and family life.

Support is available for adults as well as adolescents and young adults. Systemic psychotherapy considers not only the individual, but also relationships, family dynamics and the wider circumstances that may be contributing to a person’s difficulties.

Seeking psychological support is an important part of looking after one’s overall health.

Podiatry

Healthy feet are fundamental to mobility, independence and an active life.

Our podiatry service assesses and manages a variety of foot and lower-limb problems. Podiatric care can be particularly valuable for older adults and people living with conditions such as diabetes, where regular assessment and preventive foot care may help avoid more serious complications.

Podiatry can also complement medical and physiotherapy care when foot problems affect walking, balance or mobility.

Audiology

Hearing plays an important role in communication, relationships, independence and quality of life.

Our audiology service provides comprehensive hearing assessment and support for adults and children. Services include pure tone audiometry, bone-conduction and speech testing, together with assessment and management of tinnitus, hyperacusis and vestibular problems.

Where hearing loss is identified, advice can also be provided regarding appropriate hearing solutions and hearing aids.

Early assessment is particularly important when changes in hearing begin to interfere with conversation, work, education or social interaction.
