Mr Andrew Mercieca is a Consultant Urologist with particular expertise in male reproductive health, male-factor infertility and sexual medicine.

He graduated in Medicine from the University of Malta in 2001 and subsequently trained in Urology in Malta and the United Kingdom. He became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons and completed his specialist training in Urology, obtaining the Fellowship of the European Board of Urology (FEBU) in 2012. He is registered as a Specialist in Urology with the Malta Medical Council.

Mr Mercieca further specialised in male sexual and reproductive medicine, completing training with the European Society of Sexual Medicine and becoming a Fellow of the European Committee of Sexual Medicine (FECSM). He later obtained a Master of Science in Clinical Embryology from the University of Leeds, graduating with distinction.

He has played a particularly important role in the development of male reproductive urology in Malta and has been involved with the Male Urology Reproductive Health Clinic at Mater Dei Hospital since its establishment. His work includes the investigation and management of men with male-factor infertility, particularly couples undergoing assisted reproductive treatment. He has also been involved in multidisciplinary work relating to assisted reproductive technology and male reproductive health.

In addition to reproductive and sexual medicine, Mr Mercieca manages a broad range of general urological conditions, including prostate problems, urinary symptoms and infections, kidney stones, erectile and sexual dysfunction, testicular conditions and cancers of the urinary and male reproductive systems.

Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Mercieca is a Visiting Assistant Lecturer in Surgery at the University of Malta, where he contributes to undergraduate teaching in Urology and Nephrology.

At the Professional Services Centre, he provides specialist urological assessment in a professional and confidential setting, with particular expertise in male infertility, reproductive health and male sexual medicine.
